Best in the Industry

OUR HISTORY

Founded in 2024 by Lilian & Brent Brooks our studio’s mission is to explore the enriching world of improv and acting to help students cultivate creativity, confidence, and collaboration in a supportive environment.

Brent & Lilian met in 2012 and since then they have been inseparable. They have worked behind and in front of the camera as writers, producers and actors in several projects. First in the production side and eventually creating their own acting school “Blank Stage Actors Studio” where they trained actors for the Television and film Industry. After a life changing experience Lilian & Brent took some time to focus on other things but never leaving their passion for teaching.

Now Lilian has dedicated herself to homeschool their son and saw the need and the benefits Acting has in homeschoolers to help them stay active and aware of their potential. Brent has continued his journey in the Sales world while staying active in the realm of teaching.

They are excited to bring BROOKS STUDIOS to life in the city of Lilburn and surrounding areas, and hope to bring the Homeschooling & Acting communities together.

Thank you for your support!

Lilian Brooks

Founder/ Acting coach

From a young age, Lilian Brooks had a deep love and passion for the world of acting. Growing up in Mexico, she found joy in performing in school plays and putting on shows with her siblings at home.

At the age of 14, Lilian moved to Atlanta in search of the American dream and fell head over heels for the process of making movies. In 2012, she married Brent Brooks, who became her mentor and helped her become more involved in the local TV and film community.

Lilian has since taken on lead and principal roles as an actress in various projects and formed part of Improv Troupes. She has also collaborated with her husband and other Atlanta filmmakers, writing and producing numerous projects.

She has played a vital role in the success of the “Get Connected” film & television networking events, played a prominent role in the voiceover industry helping organize the world’s largest voiceover event event VO Atlanta and the successful organization United Women of the Arts which has lead to her having amazing connections and experiences in the industry.

Throughout her journey in the film industry, Lilian has discovered the power of improvisation and the monomyth in bringing characters to life. She has also developed a keen eye for identifying archetypes in real life.

Lilian’s passion for sharing her knowledge led her to teach acting classes at Blank Stage Actors Studios a few years ago. Despite the changes in her life, her love for teaching remains unwavering.

Now residing in Lilburn, GA, Lilian is excited to begin a new chapter of teaching acting alongside her husband and son, who share her passion for the performing arts.’

Brent Brooks

Founder

Brent’s journey into the world of filmmaking began in 1988 when his father gifted him a camera, igniting his passion for creativity. He spent endless hours crafting short films, collaborating with anyone eager to participate.

Venturing into the realm of improvisation after taking a college class, Brent founded his first improv comedy troupe, The Slightly Mad Players, which later evolved into the renowned C.R.U. (Comedy Response Unit).

Following the loss of his father, Brent channeled his grief into a film project dedicated to a faith-based program for men, marking the beginning of his notable career in film and television. He furthered his contributions by producing and directing three independent films.

Yearning for the stage, Brent established The Blank Stage in Marietta, a cozy Black Box Theater dedicated to showcasing long-form narrative improv shows. Drawing from his expertise in improv and screenwriting principles, he developed a unique fusion of the two art forms.

Driven by his passion for networking and community-building, Brent organized numerous live events, including the popular “Get Connected” film and television mixers, fostering connections among local filmmakers and industry professionals. Brent has also participated in several projects as an Actor, writer, producer & director.

His commitment to education led him to teach aspiring film and television actors, culminating in the founding of The Blank Stage Actors Studio. Despite encountering setbacks along the way, Brent’s resilience and dedication remained unwavering.

Now back in his hometown, Brent focuses on caregiving while cherishing his roles as a devoted husband and father. Eager to reignite his passion for teaching, he remains actively involved in the Lilburn community, eager to inspire and empower others in their creative pursuits.
